Congrats..... nice car!

First piece of free advice......and one that's sure to make your friends go "WTF????!?!"......on the back of the hood support/gas strut, there's a little button. Push that button and lift the hood when it's already "up" and it'll open to 90 degrees to the car. (hood goes vertical).
