Re: To our English friends... Lotus Elise
You're a real hoot Dan. You seem to think the Toyota drivetrain is a negative. It sure beats a decade old, single overhead cam discarded mercedes engine with a 6 speed manual that's STILL popping out of 6th gear. That, and it will flat out kick the Crossfire's ***, plain and simple, 0-60, in the quarter, on the skidpad, in the slalom, in braking, and on the track. Gets better gas mileage and is cheaper to insure. Spin it any way you want, the Elise destroys the Crossfire by any enthusiats's yardstick.
I'll take the Toyota drivetrain, with its serviceability, reliability, and overall strength. Gladly.
I HAD a Crossfire. You've never even sat in an Elise.
Go test drive one. You'll humbly apologize. I won't rub it in. I promise.
The Crossfire DOES win with heated seats and mirrors, wrench lights to remind of oil changes, electirc seats, and nifty little automatic wings.
That's pretty much it, right?
Enjoy your residual (non) resale value.
