All of the 8/80 stuff is part of the Federal Emissions Warranty and covers all new cars sold in the US. My Miata lost it's cat with 62,000 miles on the clock 7 years and 8 months after its In-Service date. Didn't cost me dime even though the total dealer bill would have been $685.00
