So while I was at the Petit Le Mans races on Friday, AMG had a tent set up in the front of the track that allowed you to drive one of their AMG cars they had. The stable consisted of the C63, E63, and the SL63. I chose the SL because it's similar to what I drive now.

It was quite a ride. Very similar in acceleration to the SRT with my mods. I waited a little bit to let traffic space out before I turned onto the main highway so I could let it rip. To my surprise the AMG rep didn't care that I was romping on it immediately, but what do you expect me to do with a 515hp car. My buddy who was waiting to drive the E53 said some people at the tent heard me stomp it and said "Ooo, I wanna do that".

The exhaust note on those cars is pure sex...I would love to have that sound on our cars but it'll never happen. Nice throaty burble and a slight pop when you let off the gas.

Anyway, it was cool to drive a $140k car, but no way would I buy one for that price. Also, if there is an ALMS race near you, I suggest you go. Much better and cheaper than a NASCAR event. $65 to walk the paddock where the race teams are, talk to the drivers/mechanics, and watch the races.
