Default Re: How did "Xfire" come about?

In my #6 post I pointed out that the letter X, a + sign, and a lower case letter t can all be considered a cross according to Websters.
I don't believe anybody here is suggesting we start referring to the Crossfire as a +fire.
I thought it was a given that the Crossfire was called a CROSSfire because of the two body lines intersecting on the door of the car. (Maybe everybody didn't get the memo).
I fully agree an X does look cooler, (Malcom+) just wouldn't have made quite the impact.
In Chi-town, +fire may look goofy, but maybe it was just my Catholic upbringing that made me choose my screen name, who knows. But I'll bet if you give 100 random people a piece of paper (in this culture) and ask them to draw a cross on it, you'll wind up with a + more often than X everytime. (Except on Jay Walking).
For the record, I've owned 37 cars that ended in the letter "X" (useless info for sure) but I was the first to "rebadge" their Crossfire as an "X" too.
Except for Jim in Florida, I don't know anybody else who has.
