So i don't need it cause we MAY be able to take a SRT ECU and use it on my N/A? Isn't getting it unlocked to be used on a different VIN going to be pretty difficult? I like the idea since it all stays somewhat "stock" but how do i get all that done??
Unlocking is really easy. Just send it to Beckmann and they will call you when it is done and take take $250 payment over the phone. I got my unlocked ECU back last week. One of the biggest problems that we all talk about on here is dealing with the electronics. You cannot get a new ECU from the dealer without giving them your VIN number and you pay a fotune for a ECU that comes with the VIN informaiton already prgramed to to original car. Used ECU's are considered worthless since they have all the original car's VIN and imobilization data locked in. Used ECU will not work in any car except the one it came with. Ebay sellers sell used ECU's all the time to unknowing buyers. Howver, I did find out that one company can unlock used ECU's and then they sell them to repair shops as refurbished and that is Beckmann Technologies. check this site.
If a V8 ECU can be programed to a different car, which is what Kanzus did when he dropped a AMG 55 Kompressor engine into a C240 then using the same approach should be able to be used to adapt the SRT ECU to the n/a Crossfire and may even be easier. As soon as I have my V8 running, I intend to add forced induction just as KAnzus did and i will use the 55 Kompressor ECU to do so.
