Default Re: Rotrex Guy

Well, the Auterra SPD is supposed to be in today. I completed the Rotrex install on the spyder in my garage and it is delivered. I'm still sick, but I did manage to pull the crossfire in, remove the coolant reservoir and check the clearance on the Rotrex intake. It isn't going to make it (I know it was wishful thinking but it is too tight without cutting metal) so that axes the easy way of building a single plane mount and putting the rotrex in line with the other pulleys. This weekend, I plan on mapping out which pulley I'm going to modify (basically double) and the plumbing layout.

I'll probably end up having to source a used pulley (for whichever one I target) so I can send it to my buddy. This way my car won't be down while he is using it to make a new dual unit. Therefore, I may get held up junk yard hopping

If I end up feeling up to it, I need to start with the LC-1 install, play with the SPD, and start wiring in the AEM, but I highly doubt it! I want to spend a lot of time on the NA maps and get that thing calibrated 100%. That said, I think everything will work out fine as far as time is concerned. I'll just have to time slice and work on my other projects in between test fits of parts on my car.

I'm sure that I'm going to go through several iterations of the Rotrex mount due to having to integrate a tensioner into the design.
