You'll also notice that the a/c compressor won't kick in either. I suspect that's because the car thinks the coolant is low or that it's going to overheat which it nearly did in my case as the temp gauge shot up from the middle into the red zone in about five minutes. Had to put the heater on during an 80 degree day to get it to come down into the high end of the normal range.
