Part of this is just plain stupidity, with a large dose of I don't care thrown in. FEW treat their cars like we treat ours. But, it also looks like the morons who decided they could get extra parking places if they narrowed them to accomodate something the widthe of a Fiat 500.
There are a number of places down here that do that very thing. I have learned to hike out to the farthest ends of the lot to 1) keep from getting dings and 2) just bea able to get into the car.
I had been "locked" out of my car a number of times, then two things happened, 1) due to age my knees would no longer contort to enter the car in tight spaces (acqired a handicapped badge) and 2) put on Vertical Doors.
With the Vertical doors, the door opens a little to the first stop and then up. Leaves the entire lower front area open. No climbing over, or kicking speaker panels. Gotta love 'em. Not just for looks, but a great medical reason. (That's what I told my wife anyway!)
