I think you misunderstood. I agree that an 18% driveline loss is very reasonable, and it's what I've heard from tech's as well (typically, 2wd platforms, 18-20% for an auto tranny, and 15% or so for a manual is what I've heard most frequently).
I've not seen before a claim that 18% is an "average" differential between rear-wheel DynoDynamics results and rear-wheel Dynojet results - not saying it isn't, but I just haven't seen it, so I asked to know the source where that number comes from is all.
I've edited the prior post so to avoid confusion of what I meant, I can see how it was misinterpreted.
