So I have owned my 2008 coupe for a touch over one year. In a very odd turn of events, I bought the car a week before the official crash of the financial markets. It was a little scarey at the time and even scarier was the fact that I was in eastern europe when the media explosion occurred. So what was supposed to be a fun time--bought a sports car and then off to explore new lands, turned out to be a time of confusion and second guessing.
But I'm happy to report that in the end everything has worked out fine! Over the last year the car has been almost perfect. The only unscheduled visit to the dealer was when I was locked out of the rear hatch due to a split in the pneumatic line to the rear lock mechanism. But it's been a fun experience. I just took a 500 mile road trip in the country last week and really enjoyed my experience. It even made it through the winter in perfect form. The car now has 15k miles and all is good, though I need an oil change. That's getting done this week.
In any event, when I first saw the XF coupe I always promised myself that my first "mod" would be to paint the silver windshield surround. That, unfortunately, hasn't happened--YET. But I have done a few other things. All the lenses on the car have received some attention and I removed the badging in the rear. In 2010 I will hopefully get some of the body trim painted.
But for now, this is how the car sits. Fairly stock looking, to most people.

PS--- Saw a guy in a gray coupe with chrome wheels on rt 3 in west chester. Anyone on here? I waved and got no response back.
