Re: Got to drive in Germany.....
Brings back memories of my youth when as a 25 yo Air Force officer stationed in Wiesbaden in the 1960's there were no speed limits outside of urban areas. I could cruise for hours at 120-140 mph on my way to Bertesgadten in my 63 XKE with much less traffic to worry about than today. Of course I gave no thought to the condition of my tires etc. then. Can't even recall checking the pressure.
When I lived in VIenna in the 1980's speed limits there and in Germany were cropping up on many streches of autobahn and even in the free areas, 95 mph was just fine for my middleage self and my Mercedes 300 sedan. But sure would like to get my crossfire over there to allow it to fly. It only gets to sprint out above 100 mph on isolated Texas back roads and they aren't autobahns, thats for sure.
