Being only 215hp though, I don't think they have enough actual power to attain "red line" in 6th. gear, not even sure about 5th. either.
Wind resistance can be a very large stumbling block for a NA car to overcome.

+1,
The max. hp comes on line around 5,800 rpm and with wind resistance at those speeds building rapidly, the max speed will be way less than the maximums calculated using the higher rpm's.
HP makes for speed at the higher end, because thats what it takes to overcome the continual increases in friction and mounting losses to systems that require more and more power to move at those speeds that drain the hp available.
I would not attempt to find the top speed without some serious preparation beforehand. **** happens and at those speeds it happens faster.
You may be right about the **** part. A safe place, safe car , tires etc. is about all the prep one can do.

As for the RPM/s you are right, the Dyno shows my HP and torque falling off rapidly at 5800 RPMs.

That said I should be able to hit 172 MPH before the math inverses and the laws of physics enforce a negative return on my effort.

Thing is, in third gear, my HP and torque hold strong right up to the limiter (6300 RPM). Puts me at 90 MPH.

I've been at 140 MPH for miles. Car is not at all queasy or loose. With enough safe track, or road, in front of me, a slow measured increase to the max ought to be a reasonable way to attempt it with a relative degree of safety.

I'm 62 year s old. 180MPH is still on my list of things I could probably do. So is cancer and getting shot by a jealous lover.

We all die of something. Some of us get to choose.

roadster with a stick.

BTW, The guys at eurocharged told me that the RPM limiter is set at 5470 RPMs in high gear. So, without the speed limiter your top MPH would be 161 and change BONE Stock.
