The Startech 3.8 upgrade was a displacement increase... clearly there'd be nothing visible o the exterior of the motor. So, if it weren't FOR the painted cover and stickers, you'd never know.

look identical in long-block form, but BOY do they perform in different leagues.
As for a partnership, I don't recall there ever being one. Startech is a division of Brabus, an outside tuning company for Mercedes.
Startech is to a Crossfire like Saleen is to a Mustang... just in more conservative form.
