Default Interior padding console/door.

Interior padding on console and driver side door/arm rest. I had noticed a post re: elbow pain/padding. I found the same problems w/my xf but did not want to change the appearance of the interior. I solved this problem by purchasing some gray microfiber and 1/2" dense foam padding. The console measurements are approx 4x13" (be sure to measure as this is only approx and I cannot remember the exact #'s). As you do not want to scratch the console, do not staple when finishing the project. I cut the microfiber to fit and secured it using "Gorilla Tape" (available at hardware stores etc). This type of tape is more sturdy than other tapes and will give some stability to the pad. After completing you can secure to the console using small velcro attachments on each corner.

I found that the door/armrest was a bit more difficult as you need to "sculpt" the padding to fit. When attaching this pad I used at least five small velcro pieces and placed these toward the inside of the door to increase stability.

The comfort is much improved at both sites and was very inexpensive, < $20.00 for all pieces w/plenty left over. Only issue is that you may want to use a small pieces near the cupholder as the console is set a bit far back . If you have a stick, or like to keep your hand on the shifter, the console pad may be too short.

Hope this helps.
