As many of us know, certain Crossfire shops who started a few years ago had some problems delivering the products they advertised on the internet. Now, that trend is continuing with technical, suspension, braking and engine modifications.
Please be very wary of any company that has now started to advertise specific modifications for the Crossfire. In my research, I have found that many will immediately respond that they have modded the SLK320 and many other MB models. But, when asked to provide specs on the SLK320 vs. Crossfire, they are at a loss.
I can safely say, stay away from BERGWERKS as they have shut down their facility and even though they have a large internet presence, they no longer have a facility to perform the work and have led me on a two month process of changing my differential from 3.27:1 to 3.69:1.
I have also had numerous conversations with other vendors who purport to have extensive experience in modding MB cars, but cannot provide the specifications of the modifications I requested. Nor can they verify the crossover parts from other MB models or aftermarket parts, even though they have stated they would have the information within 24 hours and return my call.
I'm still waiting for the calls !!! and the crossover specifications !!!
In my humble and often overbearing opinion, be very careful. As we have found out, not even $1,000 forum giveaways are what they appear to be.
This is only my humble opionion. CYA when you're dealing with vendors who purport to have aftermarket modifications or products for the Crossfire!!!
Good information here.
I have been trying to connect with StarTech people about this contest but I only have Europe office info. Does anyone know if there is an office here in U.S. If so, appreciate email or phone #.
