If anything, rain will cool the intake charge. If you're worried about the motor seizing from hydrolock, the filter is 3' off the ground, so you'd have to be in standing water up to the top of your tires. Even then, I think it would only stall the motor because there is a 12" elevation from the front grill area where the filter is to the throttle body at the back of the motor. If you were in water that deep, I imagine the car would be floating...
