It goes down in stages so you can set how high you want it to stay. As you press the down button the spoiler stops in each stage... when you are happy with the angle of the spoiler quickly hit the up botton and it will stop moving. It will stay at that level.

When you hit 68MPH the spoiler will go all the way up and stay there. Or you can turn the car off and the spoiler will drop back down after you start the car back up.

There are many little things about this car that I learn each day (for the past 4 years). This is one of the features I learned from the very beginning.
