Default Re: Seat Exchange 2005 to 2006 with power adjust

I almost did the same swap as the first post except it was 04 leather for my 05 cloth. One of the seats out of the salvage car did not move so it was impossible to unbolt. Thank god. I predict that trying to get the electronic motors to work and wire in a new set of heated seat switches would have been a royal pain in the a$$...and I've been doing car electronics professionally for over12 years. From what I've seen, the SLK seats are identical to the base Crossfire seats except they are in leather and probably electronic. Anyone else atempting this swap could maybe try to score the leather part of the seats and a set of headrests, if you had to, and replace the cloth. I like the idea of having an interior shop recover them. As a side note, I just baught this car about two weeks ago and it had kind of a chalky white residue on the driver's seat cushion. I thought maybe "love stains" (LOL) or a water leak but I have a co-worker that said his had the same stans. Is this common amongst cloth x-fire seats? Got a hell of a deal on this low mile car so I don't mind investing a little to make the car's interior seem new again.
