It think it could work with some massaging. If you are really interested, research what is involved with the 4matic system as far as sensors, computer modules and controllers and their corresponding inputs,and outputs. This can be found in the vehicle's shop manual. If you're lucky you can find a Bentley [not the car] or Chilton's manual floating around the internets.You can probably still find the shop manual on this site for our car so you can compare the electronics. If its similar, then try to find a wrecked 4matic benz at local scrapyards, ideally something 2002-05ish and bring a tape measure, pencil and pad. Note the physical dimensions of the drivetrain with drawings, focusing on the widest dimensions of the motor, trans, differentials, axles etc. Get a price for the engine, trans, wiring harnesses and If you are serious I'd help you as much as I can with it, but I (and obviously many others) feel like you may not be all that serious.
