My radio (VINc1704) is very bad. I can read the display under only the most ideal conditions. Reception is even worse. I live in the Santa Cruz mountains (CA); not the most ideal reception areas. However, the radios in my Focus, Element and Dodge have no problem snagging AM or FM stations. Yesterday I had business in the "flatlands" (That would be San Jose). No better their. I'm still trying to decide whether to go the TSB-route, or upgrade to the Alpine that Gailwrath had installed. I've yet to read posts that have swayed me either way.
BTW: Don't let me mislead anyone into thinking that the luggage/radio issues have soured me on the car. I am VERY happy with it. Others I considered, in pref. order, were the Audi TT, Mazda RX8, andca distant thirdcthe New "Z". Each had strong merits but after thought I went with the X-Fire because 1) I won't experiencing the doppleganger effect, 2) I've a thing for rear drive 3) I admire Chrysler's design efforts (Had, though, the car been built in Detroit I would have gone the Audi route) and 4) the price was very right.
