Re: V8 Crossfire Conversion Diary
I really don't know how it compares to the SRT but I have driven an SRT and to me the V8 feels much stronger off the line and driving around town. It is probably very similar at high speeds. The SRT has a little more peak power and the V8 has more torque. But the sound is WAAAAY different, It has a very deep sound that at first sounds kind of Euro exotic but changes to a more muscle car/Flow Master sound as the RPM's increase. Other member will probably have their own descriptions after the GTG today.
I think the next think I will do is blue top solenoids for the transmission. It really needs a firmer shift. Firming the shift will also increase the life of the transmission. I will probably go to an SRT or MB V8 trans as well. Then I will be going turbo but at some point I also want to change the rear end to a CLK55 with a Quaife differential.
I also just stuck the SRT-8 badge on and will see what the other members think today.
