While not ideal for bracket racing, I always ran a top loader, but if I had ran an automatic it would have been a C6 with the same mods you mention above. the nice thing about our transmissions is they are behind all the new hemi's. The Chrysler guys refer to this transmission as the NAG1 and there are plenty of companies working on beefed up versions. They are very strong and as mentioned above are also in the McLaren SLR.

I have been doing some checking and I believe the V6 n/a trans has a less stout clutch pack but other than that it is just as strong as any 722.6 My only complaint now is I really need a firmer shift. The easiest way to firm up the shifts is with the blue top solenoids. Companies like Southern hot Rod are building these to take any HP you can throw at it. I could also really use a posi. With the traction control off this car is a handful to launch and gets squirelly really easily. Here is something to consider:

My V8 Crossfire has a 3.95 first gear with a 3.27 rear end

SRT6 has a 3.59 first gear with a 3.07 rear end.

Texas T shot some good video today from inside and outside of the car which i hope he posts soon. He did a walk around while revving the engine and then one from inside the car while driving around and then one where i tried to launch the car in a closed down Bennigan's parking lot.
