First the freon is R134.

To chech it out, start the car on idle, check the compressor and see if the clutch is turning when the A.C is on,

Autozone or wallmart have tire pressure gauge looking thinggies that allow you to test the refrigerant pressure and indicate what you have going for you.

Never add freon to the car without checking the pressure first.

WHEN ADDING FREON BE SURE THAT THE CAN IS TOP UP OR ELSE YOU CAN REALLY BLOW THE COMPRESSOR PUMPING LIQUID.........REALLY
