I don't know who your insurance Co is but .....They are supposed to insure the vehicle for "it's value." Only way you can get a loan on a car is to have it insured for it's value.
Perhaps you have a deductable which applies even on the windsheild. Many of the top insurers. like Allstate, have no deductable on the windsheild replacment. This comes in handy on some cars where windshields can cost $ 600.00 or more.
They have replaced mine on the roadster. Pilkington and proper Urethane bedding, cured inside the shop. No out of pocket.
Oh well, at least you got the right glass and install.
