To summarize that thread:
Since you can't turn the key. You will have to drill out the locking pin that is on the assembly. The pin is silver and to the left of the clamp. then undo the clamp and turn the whole assembly counterclockwise and pull it out. The steering lock then should disengage after the assembly is pulled out. I would go take some pictures but it's below freezing here is Seattle at the moment.

The tumbler prevents you from simply pressing the locking pin. Since you will drill out the pin, You do not need to put the key in the tumbler.
