You might just be right, Photo. I've wondered about the OEM's because we've all read the threads where they seem to fail around 30K or so, even less at times. My SRT is a daily driver (except when it's snowing) & my Bosch first failed at a wee bit over 70K.
But I would think that, if the cars were just setting around, that the mechanicals of the pump might get flaky, no coolant being pushed around=no lubrication of the moving parts. But I found that the mechs. on the Bosch were just fine.
Weird stuff.....
