You might just be right, Photo. I've wondered about the OEM's because we've all read the threads where they seem to fail around 30K or so, even less at times. My SRT is a daily driver (except when it's snowing) & my Bosch first failed at a wee bit over 70K.
But I would think that, if the cars were just setting around, that the mechanicals of the pump might get flaky, no coolant being pushed around=no lubrication of the moving parts. But I found that the mechs. on the Bosch were just fine.
Weird stuff.....
mine failed at around 2,200 miles! when i bought my car it only had a little over 600 miles on it so yeah it sat around doing nothing for a long time.
those bosh pumps are on all kinds of cars and they work great. i really do think that is why we see them fail on our cars though. who knows for sure though. 70k is great though, you got your moneys worth out of your stock one for sure!
