Wow, I would have had the guy that was banging on the oil pan produce his "certified SRT-6 mechanic" diploma on the first time you saw/heard the banging. This is Mercedes stuff.... they don't design something you have to "bang" with a hammer to get off.... A special $1500 tool that looks like a big coat hanger would be the most likely real thing to use.... if such a tool existed.
