Default Re: Targa Top Crossfire

O.K., someone here must provide a counterpoint (but I waited until the thread played out so I wouldn't get fried too bad in replies).

1. I love the color--serious as a heart attack.
2. I believe the concept is valid and the final outline, had it worked, would have been a keeper (especially if the roof somehow fits in the trunk).
3. Black wheels are far and away the best on this car.

Having done some chop work before, the problem here is that the car has definately tweaked in the middle (or everywhere). The top wasn't done wrong as the owner states--the distance between the top of the windshield and front of the back roof has shrunk.

This, alone, does not explain all the mismatched panels, but it does account for the doors. Also suspect, the listing stated that the car was disassembled and painted. Even taking a car to metal, you only disassemble if you need to rebuild, and you only need to rebuild if the original stuff is broken. I.e., this car was somehow wrecked. But there'd be no reason to buy that much new metal on a totaled XF. What's the explanation?

My guess is, even before the roof, this car was launched and came down hard from 3' or more, bending everywhere and blowing out the rims and tires.
