aftermarket warranty
On july 2,2009, I purchased a 60 mo. premier plus warranty from MPBI for 1079. thru a local Chrysler dealer based upon their recomendation. On the application form it specified that I should call the plan adminstrator if I had not recieved the vehicle service contract. Since I had not, I telephoned the administrator and was told that the person I needed to speak with was out on a family emergency and there was no one else who could help me. A message was left. Eventually, after I made a second call, I spoke with a woman who told me that t he the dealer who took the application, had been notified on august 20 that the contract had been denied because of the age of the vehicle. I followed up with the salesperson at the selling dealer and it was determined that he had inserted the wrong serial number on the application which set the vehicle as a 2004 , when in fact is was a 2005. The salesman apologized for the mistake and he made correction on the application and resubmitted it. I asked him if this mean't I had been operating without a warranty for the past couple of months, and he assured me that I had been covered and now everything would go thru wthout further difficulty. On a further occasion when I was at the dealership, I told the salesperson that I still had not received a service contract .He responded that the application was my contract. About a week ago I received a telephone call from the salesman explaining that there was a minor problem with the warranty in that MBPI had now realized that my Crossfire was the superchargedSRT and they wanted another $100.00,to scure the warranty. I told the salesperson that with all that had happened I had lost confidence that I had been covered over the past six months and that if I ever had to make claim that I wouldn't recover. He concurred, and asked me what I wanted him to do. I told I wanted a full refund, not a prorata one. He indicated he would work it out with the warranty company and he would immediately issue me a dealership check for the full amount. It's been a week and and I haven't received payment . I plan on going to the dealership after New Years. The whole problem with this is that I am now without an extended warranty!
