Both Crossfires exhibit(ed) this kinda behavior when it gets cold.
And, at least in my case, it's the tranny.
Since both cars are over 70K in mileage I decided to have the tranny fluid replaced in the SRT - I mean, what the heck: the manual says that you should replace the transmission fluid at 80K; 71K isn't too far from that mark!
This solved the problem with the tranny slipping when cold on the SRT & it's been absolutely trouble free since then.
The '04 is next!
Be forewarned though: I had my done at the dealership & it ran around $225.
