I did this on my wife's Caddy Eldorado by soldering the correct ohm resistors into the Vats reading circuit.
This was very easy, took an hour and cost me about $1.

I know this will limit some of the antitheft protection but, after driving over 40 years, I have yet to have a car stolen.

If you manage it let me know where you park it.
If you did this and the insurance company found out I doubt your coverage would be in effect. They insured a car with anti theft devices.
