Lets deal with Mr Onehundred80 first...
I wasn't offended what so ever by your Mr O' remark, I never even realized it, I would need more than that, I have thicker skin than that. But I would like to say, thanks for responding to my problem. I have only appreciation for this forum and find it very useful,
But...
I must not be explaining myself properly, here's the problem;
I do get the hand brake, fog lights, daytime running lights, left and right standing lights, parking lights, low beam lights and
OFF position.
The keyword is
OFF
I seem to remember waiting for my buddy in his alley in back of his house and being able to turn all lights off, you know like a stalker or as if I was a cop on a stake out, you know incognito, inconspicuously...but now even in
OFF position they don't turn
OFF.
Reference; 2005 Crossfire Owner's Manual, Chapter 3, page 73
The light switch has 5 positions, well actually 7 but lets forget about the fogs and the extra pull that (as I was told in a past thread) is for European rear lights or something. So lets stick to 5 positions from the left going clockwise to the right;
1-left standing lights
2-right standing lights
3-
OFF (straight up)
4-parking lights (everything except the low beams)
5-low beams (which also turns everything on except the fogs and high beams)
So my question is;
Why is it that when the car is running and the parking brake is on
or off and the light switch is in the OFF position (straight up) do the
parking lights stay on?
I know that the parking brake switch is functioning properly, because when I take it off, the (Canadian regulation) daytime driving lights come on.
So how can I turn all lights off (including the dash lights) with the engine running and parking brake on???
Whats the point of an
OFF position if I can't turn them
OFF???
The manual says that "all lights are automatically switched on whenever the vehicle is started and the parking brake is
released". So I'm assuming that they mean they should be off when the parking brake is on...
Mine turn on even if the switch is in off position and the handbrake is on.
Thanks....
