Update: Living with the V8 Crossfire
I just noticed last night that I now have 2,000 miles on the V8, so I thought I would give a quick update. In case any of you didn't know this, the car is my daily driver. The only other car I have access to is my teenage son's car. So far I am very pleased. I have not babied the car at all. The stock transmission has held up fine and shifts just like stock. The added power has made the slow shifts more noticable. I have had no problems what so ever. The car has been to one car show and won the 2000 and up class which included Mustangs, Camaro's, Vette's and Challengers. The Mercedes V8 in a Crossfire really blew some minds that day. I have been challenged only twice. Once by a Hemi Challenger that didn't stand a chance and also by a new Bentley Continental GT. The Bently did much better than the Challenger. It was a tie we were door to door the whole time. I went home a looked up the specs on the Bentley and it said it does 0-60 4.5 seconds so I guess a tie was something to be proud of. The car has a very agressive V8 sound which turns a lot of heads. It is a beautiful sound! My only exhaust mods are an Anza with stock Crossfire tips and secondary cat delete. My inspection stick just expired so I am going to get to see if I can sneak the car through inspection!
