I just had a new radio put in and I am experiencing the same problems. I thought it may be due to the cold weather, but with you being in Texas, I'm guessing that's not the case. I don't think has to do with reception for me because the name of the station appears on the display, it' just that there's no sound. I'll have to schedule an appointement to get it looked at.
