I noticed that i seem to be getting a constant buildup of oil on all the pullies and the belt. I had to replace a belt this fall because the old one was slipping. There is nowhere to tell where the oil is coming from because its everywhere on the front of the motor. Not alot but enough to make a messy engine bay, and cause minor belt slip. I'm almost positive its leaking from the crank pulley/harmonic dampner, possibly the seal is leaking some and sligging this oil everywhere and making a mess. Has anyone with aftermarket crank pullies noticed excess oil on the front of the motor and touching your pullies noticed they are slimey and coated with oil?
PS: i get no oil spots when parking, maybe a drip if the car sits a few days, which just leaves me think its that seal on the crank pulley. I do have a 178 ASP so its possible the seal was harmed or maybe i should of put a new seal on with the new pulley. Rob have you seen this or any other track guys with crank pullies? or just **** owners
