They said I would have to rewire the front and rear speakers!!!!!!! I mean I want a satellite ready unit that I can drop in simply and continues to work thru ALL my door speakers and subs. Is it out there? Okay there's got to be an expert out there who can tell me if it's really going to be this hard or tell me the down and dirty as to how to make this happen. Appreciate anyone's help. Thanks
Dude... you got a bum sales rep or something. Nearly any standard DIN head unit will fit without anything else. Perhaps even DIN units that Crutchfield says won't fit. Anyhow... here's the other Crutchfield parts you need to
plug and play your replacement head unit:
From my Crutchfield order:
P/N 120869001 Universal OEM DIN Tool Pair (removes stock head unit)
P/N 12040EU10 Euro antenna adapter
P/N 120701784 VW Wire harness (switch the red and yellow wires when connecting the VW harness to the new head unit harness, DO connect the amp turn on lead)
Okay, so now just pick any new head unit (Alpine comes to mind) that is Satellite capable, ready or whatever...
Good luck
PS Unless you are going to replace the stock amp you don't need to rewire anything. I didn't nor did the 10 or 15 other people that I've seen on this board.
Edit: if you still want it...
