I am sure you could go larger, but it would take pounding in the inner wheel well with a sledge hammer and then rolling the fenders too.
The fronts are a whole different story…they are going to rub no matter what. On sharp turns or backing up with the wheels turned, you will rub. This is not a huge deal, but I only have 19x8s with 225/35/19s which is smaller than most and I still got a small amount of rubbing.
Having custom wheels made is not that expensive, and when I say custom I mean sizes and offsets. You can buy DPEs for around $1K each and they will make them any size you want. Much cheaper than 360, HRE and such.
I think it would be interesting to see some 19x11s on a SRT6….I can give you my contact at DPE if you like.
BLKFIN, yeah, you see that is what I'm wanting to avoid. I don't want
the rims to extend any of the added width to the inside edge of the rim.
I want to draw the rim out, so to speak, so that is extends outwards
from the car and not inwards. That should take care of the rubbing,
especially as I intend to stay with 18" up front and 19" on the rear.
So, a $1,000 doesn't sound too horrible. Can certainly by a nice set of
pre-mades for less than a set of customs at $1K/wheel, but I do want
to make sure that the rims meet my specs, and finding pre-manufactured
that don't extend part of the additional width towards the centerline of
the car is difficult.
Thanks for the 411,
