You do realize they sell spacers that bolt to the hub right? It's basically like an extension of the HUB and they are very heavy duty. Zero chance of moving or loosening. They are so tight that currently I can't get mine off!
I think his purpose was..... street wheels do not need spacers.... drag wheels need spacers.... Why bolt/unbolt spacers from hub every time you swap between street and drag wheels. Great idea in my opinion.
