I did the same as you and bought several cans since I have two cars to do. Less than one can for the Aero when I changed the rotors, pads and lines.... I guess you can never have too much, but I am set for the next 3 or 4 years if I change every year.....
I wasn't 100% sure how much I would need, and since you can't find the kind of fluid I wanted to use locally, I made sure I had plenty lol... It's sealed up in a can so it shouldn't go bad.
