I have these tires all the way around on my OEM wheels for the winter and as Matt and Pman have said, they are ONLY a winter tire, and you will not be happy with them year round, unless you absolutely drive your XF like it was a Honda Odyssey and do not mind the tires sounding like a lifted ford on 38" mudders (obviously an exageration, but you get the point).
Since you got such a good deal, I would wait until right before next winter, sell them as brand new on here to someone who needs them and buy the all seasons.....
What size do you have on the fronts??? I didn't find any 225/40/18s....there were some 225/50/18s on Tire rack.....that size was also being dumped....about $140 or so
