To answer your questions:
a) yes, i checked the batteries...because i honestly thought i could have put them in wrong too..
b) yes, both keys do in fact start the car, as well as unlock the car with the key inserted in the driver's side door handle.
c) no, none of the buttons work on either key.
d) see above.
thanks for any help/advice/suggestions. i have been just licing with the fact that i have to put the key into the driver's side door to lock/unlock the car and have been doing so for a while. when i saw this thread, i'd figure i'd actually raise an issue with it...so here we go...
