I have found their website

Akebono Brake Corporation

They appear not to have any dealers this side of the Pond. Do they have any motorsport heritage in the USA? I believe a good brake pad is developed on the race circuit where extreme temperatures are observed. I therefore would make my choice based on what history the manufacturer has.

This is important to me when driving down a Swiss Mountain side or having a blast around the Nurburgring. Brake fade aint no joke when approaching a corner at three figure speeds and you rely on them.
