plug is center of tire, in one of the groves with lots of tread to go before coming close to it. I figure it will do just fine. I already love the bigger grip, for it really does make a difference. Hopefully that is a plug/patch and not just a plug....heating up the tires can pull a regular plug out...the other is a patch/plug combo, it is installed from the inside of the tire and pulled thru, sealing the area and the hole
