I notice some of the US threads say you should insist on the OEM Pilkington glass for a replacement. (It seems they have a lot of sub standard Chinese replacement parts over there??)

Just spoke to my insurance company and they're happy to replace it, but they use their own glass, not Pilkington OEM, but apparently British made to the same standards. Just waiting for them to come back to me to tell me if they can use OEM glass.

Has anyone else in the UK had a replacement windscreen? Was it OEM? Any issues for me to be aware of?

Regards, Andy.
Hi Andy,
I wasn't aware of those issues , but spookily had a 4 inch or so crack by the tax disk about a month ago and had mine replaced. Mine is an 05 Roadster with 73k on the clock. It did coincide with a corner minor impact and I associated it with that as a stress fracture. My insurance company replaced and all seems Ok so far ....
