floor it a bunch and get it really hot if it all the sudden becomes slow i/c pump is probably bad.

check the valve cover gaskets for leaks, and if you can lift the car check the stabilizer shock near the steering rack for leaks too. if the hood is hard to open the shock is going out that holds the hood open and thats $150 or so.
