If I remember correctly, only one person has broke into the 13's with a NA car, and that was on "juice". I don't remember reading where anybody has broken out of the 14's with a NA car no matter how many "performance" mods they've added.
If you want to stay with your friends Z's and Camaros "drag racing", then the SRT is the only way to go. That is the only thing the SRT does better than a NA car. If you're talkin about staying with them in the twisties, your NA car should be fine.
A well driven "stock" 6 spd. XF will not let a "stock" SRT out of its sight (even on the Hell Bender" section, of the Dragon) and can usually reel em back in on the curves. I know because I've done it with three different "stock" SRT's, and I'm certainly no exceptional driver, that's for sure.
But if Drag racing is the most important thing to you, go with the SRT and learn to deal with the automatic, then swap your hatch with a NA car. (You would have no problem finding somebody to trade with) Probably could even find somebody with the same color as yours.
