I'll take on these two and I'm an expert on the short people question...

I'm a 5'2" female with about 26.5" inseam - we're talking lucky to reach the frigging ground let alone anything else, lol. I have an '08 manual Limited Roadster. With the seat all the way forward and up quite a bit (be sure to have your wife move that seat UP as well as forward, makes a big difference), I can just reach the clutch, fully depressed. No problem whatsoever driving/controlling the car even under more extreme conditions (railing mountain roads and at the track). Unless her inseam is even less than mine, she should be perfectly fine.

There isn't much trunk space however, I was able to cram a queen size comforter along with a couple of tiny bed pillows in the trunk with the top down. Happened to be the very same day I got pulled over for having too much fun in the sun - shoulda seen the policeman's face when I popped the trunk to get my driver's license and the comforter sprung out like the snakes out of a can gag, lol.
