If you happen to have the gears spinning just right, maybe, but normaly there would be an interference just because of the ratios involved. It is easier mechanicaly to enter
any gear
but reverse in the situation. In many older trannys, if you do this, you can blow the master cluster.
Reverse, always done at rest, full stop.
